Synopsis

Prof Oak is scheduled to make a public appearance in Maroon Town which just happens to be the next stop on the way to Blackthorn City for Ash and company. Team Rocket happens to be in Maroon Town and notice the posters for the show tomorrow. They also notice that there will be a buffet after the show for the celebrities. So they dress up as Oak, Mary and a producer to fool the host Nurse Joy into feeding them. James, disguised as Oak, bluffs his way through a question and answer session with the local children.
When the real Prof Oak shows up there is a lot of confusion. Ash and company can vouch for him, but there is no proof in that either. So a challenge is made to have a show down on stage and whoever is the real Oak wins. The knowledge contest ends up as a poetry contest as a tie breaker, and Oak wins. Team Rocket start to get away with the after show brunch, but the food is recovered and Oak sends a pidgey to send Team Rocket off (in an intact balloon this time). The professor’s reputation is restored and the children have all kinds of questions for him.
