The XY Series (2014–2016) explored the Kalos region and introduced one of the most iconic mechanics in the game’s history: Mega Evolution. Towering Mega Pokémon-EX cards headlined the era — the very first time Mega Evolved Pokémon ever appeared in the TCG.

Across 14 expansions from 2014 to 2016, the block tied in with Pokémon X and Y on the 3DS. It ran on powerful Pokémon-EX, added Ancient Trait cards, and closed with the BREAK Evolution mechanic — while planting the seed that the modern Mega Evolution Series would revive a decade later.
