The Sword & Shield Series (2020–2023) brought the TCG to the Galar region during the game’s biggest popularity surge in decades. It was built around Pokémon V — powerful basic Pokémon worth two Prizes — which grew into colossal VMAX cards and, later, VSTAR cards with a devastating once-per-game power.

Running from February 2020 through early 2023 across 17 expansions, the block tied in with Pokémon Sword and Shield on Nintendo Switch. It delivered some of the most collectible modern sets — Evolving Skies, Brilliant Stars and the 25th-anniversary set Celebrations among them — alongside Radiant Pokémon and the sought-after Trainer Gallery subsets.
