It first aired in Japan on 14 January 2010 and in the United States on 12 June 2010. It falls within the season’s On the road to Daybreak Town stretch (EP158–EP160).
Synopsis
Ash’s Buizel learns Ice Punch from a black belt named Clayton and his Mr. Mime. When Gible tumbles into a river below a waterfall, Buizel rescues it, and Clayton bursts out through the falls to challenge it. Mr. Mime’s Psychic, Double Team and Thunder Punch defeat Buizel easily.
Ash asks to train with Clayton, who demonstrates by freezing the waterfall with Mr. Mime’s Ice Punch and scolds Buizel’s weak punches. By evening Buizel can produce only a little ice, so that night Ash has it strike at leaves blowing in the wind until its fist starts to glow.
Next morning Team Rocket’s attempt to steal Mr. Mime ends when lightning blasts them away. In the rematch Buizel rebounds off a tree to escape Psychic and breaks Double Team with Sonic Boom; then a sudden downpour activates its Swift Swim, and a faster Buizel lands Ice Punch to knock Mr. Mime out. Clayton congratulates them, and the group heads on towards Daybreak Town.
