Synopsis
At the Ferroseed Research Institute, an outbreak of electrified moss engulfs the building and the city, and Iris must work alongside Georgia and her new Vanilluxe to stop it. On their way to the boat for Virbank City, the group meets Georgia, who has caught an Ice-type Vanilluxe just to beat Iris and is visiting the institute to collect a moss said to boost Pokémon’s abilities.
On the tour, Ferroseed absorb minerals from rocks and release spiky moss spores, but three attached to electrified rocks from Chargestone Cave suddenly fire all their spikes at once. Turquoise moss pours out of the lab, dazing Pikachu and overgrowing the institute, and Iris, Axew, Oshawott and Vanilluxe are cut off on the roof, where Excadrill and Emolga collapse from the spores until Vanilluxe proves that Icy Wind freezes the moss.
Professor Malveaux treats Pikachu, Officer Jenny’s Swanna freeze the moss across the city, and Georgia’s Beartic and Vanilluxe break through to the overcharged Ferroseed. Pignite’s Flamethrower weakens them, and Pikachu and Stunfisk drain their excess electricity, returning them to normal. Georgia compliments Iris on working so well with Vanilluxe, and the group sails for Virbank City.
