Synopsis
Roy helps a timid Wattrel that is too afraid to fly conquer its fear and catches it, while Friede uncovers a Magneton saboteur and Terastallizes Charizard for the first time, but in Levincia Spinel’s Beheeyem hypnotises Liko and steals her pendant. With the Brave Olivine’s systems dead, Dot struggles in vain to restore the signal and panics at Friede’s suggestion of simply starting the ship, since it can only fly in a straight line; Murdock calms her and takes Liko shopping in Levincia. Hearing Noctowl on the roof, Friede finds a swarm of Magneton causing the power failure and scatters them with Charizard’s Flamethrower, which ends the electromagnetic storm but leaves him suspicious. Roy finds the Wattrel he met at the picnic sitting alone by a river, apart from its flock on a nearby watchtower, and after a Vespiquen chases them all and Roy and Fuecoco tumble into the water, he offers it an Oran Berry; Wattrel takes a flying stance but is too frightened to leave the ground.
In town, Murdock thanks Liko for including Dot in the picnic and asks her to stay his niece’s friend, and Liko says Dot gave her the courage to tell her father she wanted to stay with the Tacklers; they buy several kinds of Herba Mystica while a Beheeyem watches. With Liko and Murdock’s encouragement, Wattrel finally manages a jump during Roy’s drills. Friede chases a Magneton into an alley, where a Beheeyem carrying Spinel’s communicator attacks with Dark Pulse, Magneton’s Zap Cannon paralyses Charizard, and Spinel prepares a finishing Meteor Beam. Friede uses his Tera Orb to Terastallize Charizard into a Dark type, which blunts the Meteor Beam and makes it immune to Psychic, and a Dark-type Tera Blast badly hurts Beheeyem before Spinel teleports his Pokémon away.
That night Roy spots Ludlow’s fishing rod and gets an idea. The next morning, after a breakfast that even Dot enjoys, he ties Wattrel to the rod’s line beside a cardboard cutout and swings it out over the river. Liko, meanwhile, receives a message about a shop selling the Spicy Herba Mystica that Murdock wanted and heads into Levincia. As Wattrel flaps, the electricity from its wings snaps the line, and it hovers over the river until a gust carries it to its cheering flock on the watchtower. When Roy prepares to leave, Wattrel flies after him, and the ball Murdock hands him catches it just as a gust knocks it towards the water. In Levincia, Liko finds only an empty alley where the shop should be; she bumps into a disguised Spinel, and as she bends to pick up her phone, Beheeyem’s flashing fingers put her and Sprigatito in a trance, and Spinel walks away holding her pendant.
