Synopsis

Dot officially becomes Quaxly’s Trainer and, with Liko and Roy, confronts Spinel aboard a departing cargo ship, where the pendant’s light helps them recover it before Dot finally confesses to Liko that she is Nidothing. Dot thanks Quaxly for staying by her side, and when Friede offers her a Poké Ball, Liko and Roy are surprised to learn that Quaxly was never hers; Dot admits she never wanted to be a Trainer but has decided to become its partner, and her throw is so weak that Quaxly has to jump into the ball himself. A billboard advertising a departing cruise suggests the thief’s escape route, but Friede, reaching a ferry on Charizard, finds only a hired man whose Bisharp falls to Captain Pikachu’s Thunder Punch. With the signal jammed again, Liko tells Dot how the pendant brought them all together, and Arboliva’s Ancient Poké Ball begins to glow, showing that the pendant is near. Quaxly leads Dot to a docked cargo ship, where Quaxly’s Pound stops Beheeyem from hypnotising her and Spinel speaks through a speaker on his Magneton.

Cornered, Dot has Quaxly fire Water Gun into the air as a signal, and Roy and Liko leap aboard just as the ship leaves port. Sprigatito’s Quick Attack saves Quaxly from Magneton’s Electro Ball, and Liko recognises Spinel as the Explorer who stole her pendant. He threatens to erase her memories again, but encouraged by Roy and Dot she stands firm, and the three Trainers face Beheeyem and Magneton together. Leafage breaks the Pokémon’s combined Psychic and Electro Ball attack, Quick Attack and Water Gun hit Beheeyem, and when Wattrel accidentally steps on Fuecoco’s head, the Ember Fuecoco aims at it hits Magneton instead, sparking a squabble that Roy has to break up. Angered by the loss, Spinel sends out his Umbreon, whose Snarl easily overpowers Quaxly.

Liko resolves to protect the pendant as it has protected her, and it fires a beam of light that exposes Spinel behind the containers and blazes so brightly that he drops his case. Sprigatito snatches the pendant back, and when Umbreon moves to retrieve it, the giant Arboliva bursts out of its Ancient Poké Ball and glares at Spinel until Umbreon tugs his sleeve and he backs down. The three friends ride Arboliva over the side and float to Friede, while Spinel concludes that Liko herself holds the key to the pendant’s secret. On the Brave Olivine, now bound for Galar, Dot, encouraged by Quaxly, tells Liko that she is Nidothing, leaving Liko and Sprigatito stunned. Spinel reports to Hamber as Coral teases him and Sidian and Chalce ask about the pendant’s power, but he keeps his unverified findings to himself, more curious than ever about Liko.
