Synopsis

As the damaged Brave Olivine makes an emergency landing, Liko, Roy, Dot and Friede, joined by Amethio, battle the Black Rayquaza and are defeated, but in the final clash Sprigatito evolves into Floragato and Fuecoco learns Flame Charge, and the Explorers’ leader Gibeon is revealed with a Shiny Zygarde. Spinel arrives by helicopter, sees that Rayquaza is still strong and orders the admins to retreat, while the Brave Olivine splashes down safely at sea and Ludlow returns to help the crew. Liko and Roy tell Rayquaza that it has inspired their journey and challenge it to a battle, and it roars its acceptance. Friede invites Dot to join and splits them into teams: he and Roy fly on Charizard to draw Rayquaza towards the lighthouse, while Captain Pikachu’s Volt Tackle vortex launches Sprigatito and Quaxly into the air, only for Rayquaza to swat them down with its tail. Dot devises a new plan in which Quaxly’s Low Kick boosts Sprigatito into a Magical Leaf as Fuecoco and Charizard add Flamethrower.

Under cover of the smoke from Rayquaza’s Dragon Pulse, Charizard closes in and Fuecoco lands a super-effective Disarming Voice, but Rayquaza now fights seriously, unleashing a barrage of Draco Meteor. Fuecoco falls from Charizard, and Quaxly slows his fall with Water Gun before another meteor shower knocks Quaxly out and leaves Terapagos in the path of a falling meteor. As Liko runs to protect it, Amethio arrives on Ceruledge and slices the meteor in half with Shadow Claw. Annoyed that Spinel cut him out of the operation, Amethio claims Rayquaza for himself and Terastallizes Ceruledge into a pure Ghost type for the first time. Realising they can only win together, Friede Terastallizes Charizard too, and Amethio grudgingly lets him fight alongside him, but as the pair prepare a finishing blow, Rayquaza dives into them with Dragon Ascent, knocking out both Pokémon.

As everyone stands stunned, Fuecoco stomps in frustration until flames gather around him, and Liko regains her confidence and orders Magical Leaf; Sprigatito begins to glow and evolves into Floragato, and its Magical Leaf and Fuecoco’s newly learned Flame Charge push Rayquaza back before both partners collapse. Rayquaza stares at Liko, roars and flies away, and Amethio leaves with Zirc and Onia, warning that he will return for Terapagos and that Rayquaza is his target. At sunset, Liko and Roy apologise for losing and for the damaged ship, but Friede reminds them that their journey continues as long as they keep going. Liko vows to find the remaining Six Heroes and take Terapagos to Laqua, Roy to earn Rayquaza’s respect, and Dot to keep learning the world’s mysteries, and Friede proposes Terastal training for all three. At headquarters, Gibeon decides to let the Tacklers gather the Six Heroes first, and in his private chamber, beside a Shiny Zygarde, he vows to return to Laqua to claim the Laquium, telling Lucius that the adventure is not over.
