Synopsis
During the Tera Training Student Battle Tournament, the Explorers raid Naranja Academy for its Terapagos data; Chalce escapes with it, but Liko beats Sidian with Terastallization and Roy beats Coral, and Grusha, having watched, turns Liko’s failed test into a pass. Clavell tells the returning students that those who passed will receive Tera Orbs later, and Dot notices that Dash failed her implementation test like Liko. Clavell and Geeta then announce a round-robin, one-on-one tournament in which everyone may Terastallize, pass or fail, to the relief of Liko and Dash. As Ann’s Dewott battles Niko’s Roserade, Nemona notes that the Gym Leaders have come to watch, though Liko sees that Grusha is absent. Penny summons Dot to the nurse’s office: the school network is being hacked by “Chive,” the suspicious teacher linked to the Explorers. Dot explains their pursuit of Black Rayquaza and Terapagos and mentions the Terapagos sighting data from Area Zero that Clavell shared, and Penny deduces their target. A teacher’s computer is controlling the principal’s PC remotely, so while Penny tries to block the breach, Dot and her friends split up to search the art room, the biology lab and the home economics room.
Liko finds a security guard and his Psyduck knocked down and coated in salt, a sign of Salt Cure; Hattrem heals them with Heal Pulse and stays behind while Liko heads upstairs. Leaving the art room, Roy is confronted by the student “Cornbread,” who turns out to be Coral, and in the biology lab Dot photographs “Chive,” who drops her disguise to reveal Chalce as her Medicham’s Confusion foils Quaxwell’s attempt to break down the door. Grusha arrives in the library and finds the injured guard. On the roof, Sidian, guarding the escape route, demands Terapagos, and Liko refuses. Roy stops Fuecoco’s Flamethrower so as not to burn the artwork, then rides Kilowattrel out of the window to take the battle with Glalie outside, where Flamethrower and Blizzard clash. Floragato dodges Garganacl’s Stone Edge and Salt Cure, binds its hands with her vine and breaks them with Acrobatics, but Recover regrows them and Sidian Terastallizes Garganacl into a Rock type. Tinkatink smashes Chalce’s laptop through a window, but Chalce already has the data and Teleports away with a Xatu.
A boosted Salt Cure grazes Floragato’s legs, her Magical Leaf barely scratches the Terastallized Garganacl, which heals again, and she sinks to her knees, crusted with salt. Grusha prepares to step in, but Liko declares that she cannot lose, for Terapagos and for the school, and Terastallizes Floragato; a boosted Magical Leaf follows a dodged Stone Edge, and Floragato turns a Salt Cure back on Garganacl to win. Sidian tells Liko to remember his name and flies off on Aerodactyl. Below, Fuecoco’s Flamethrower overwhelms Blizzard and knocks Glalie out; Coral throws a tantrum and refuses Chalce’s order to withdraw until Sidian carries her away. Called to the principal’s office, Liko expects to be punished for Terastallizing after failing, but Grusha says he misjudged her: her real strength shows when she fights for someone else. Clavell praises her for protecting the academy and Grusha gives her a passing grade, making all three friends full Tera Orb holders. Penny thanks Dot for proving who the intruder was, and as the second round begins, Liko and Roy learn that they will face each other.
