Cheers on Castaways Isle! is the 8th episode of Pokémon DP: Galactic Battles, the twelfth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 575th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 579, Bulbapedia code DP112). It first aired in Japan on 29 January 2009 and in the United States on 27 June 2009. It falls within the season’s Chocovine & Dawn’s fourth Ribbon stretch (EP112–EP117).
Synopsis
Pikachu and Piplup are stranded on an uncharted island, where they help a Corphish and some Mantyke gather rocks to revive a fallen Deoxys. On the ferry to Chocovine Town, Team Rocket snatch the pair in their Magikarp submarine, but a whirlpool breaks their capsule open, and Ash is fished out of the sea by Officer Jenny after chasing them with Buizel.
Pikachu drags the unconscious Piplup ashore, and the two forage for food and bicker until a lightning strike knocks Piplup out. Jenny explains that the area is “Diablo’s Ocean”, where grey rocks disrupt instruments, so Ash sends Buizel and Staravia to search. The castaways find the Pokémon arranging meteorite fragments around a glowing crystal, the regenerating organ of Deoxys.
Team Rocket surface and grab for Pikachu and Piplup until Staravia and Buizel break their sub’s golden arm. Deoxys fully regenerates, levitates the rocks and fries the submarine with Zap Cannon, then shields everyone from the debris in its Defense Forme. It creates an aurora and flies away, and the group reach Chocovine Town.
