Oshawott’s Lost Scalchop! is the 28th episode of Pokémon: Black & White, the fourteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 681st episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 686, Bulbapedia code BW028). It first aired in Japan on 21 April 2011 and in the United States on 13 August 2011. It falls within the season’s Emolga, Bianca & Iris’s dragons stretch (EP24–EP33).
Synopsis
When a battle knocks Oshawott’s scalchop into the forest, Ash trains it to win a rematch against Trainer Stephan and his Blitzle without it. Stephan challenges Ash on the road to Nimbasa City, and Ash postpones the match when the scalchop vanishes. The search turns up only a bottle cap and a wild Joltik.
Iris’s Iapapa Berry is burnt by Thunderbolt, and Dwebble carves a stone scalchop that proves too heavy to use, so the friends decide to boost Oshawott’s speed and offence instead. Ash and Pikachu train it through the night until it can carry the stone shield.
The next morning Stephan charges his Blitzle on an exercise bike, and in the rematch Shock Wave cracks the stone scalchop and Double Kick shatters it. Oshawott dodges and lands Tackles, its Aqua Jet misses, and Blitzle crashes into a boulder and is knocked out. Stephan and Ash shake hands, and Axew returns the real scalchop to the sleeping Oshawott.
