Synopsis
Tirtouga evolves into Carracosta and, with Ferris’s help, escapes Team Rocket and returns to the ancient world before the Time Gate closes forever. The frightened Tirtouga provokes a group of Whirlipede, Ferris shields it from their Steamroller, and Sierra arrives with Iris and Cilan in a truck to carry everyone away, while Ferris explains Team Rocket’s plan to use Tirtouga to open the gate.
After Ferris finds a substitute for its long-extinct favourite food, Tirtouga finally eats, but Team Rocket ambush the group with Yamask and Woobat and net it. Tirtouga evolves into Carracosta and breaks free, then runs off towards the calls of its kind. Team Rocket capture it at the gate and drain its life energy to hold the passage open.
Ash and Cilan battle Jessie and James while Ferris, Sierra and Iris free Carracosta, which now recognises Ferris. Its roar brings three more Carracosta through the gate, and together they smash Team Rocket’s force field with Ancient Power before Pikachu’s Electro Ball drives the villains off. Everyone says goodbye, the gate seals itself, and Sierra admits she should have believed Ferris all along.
