Mega Revelations! is the 29th episode of Pokémon the Series: XY, the seventeenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 824th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 830, Bulbapedia code XY030). It first aired in Japan on 29 May 2014 and in the United States on 9 August 2014. It falls within the season’s Korrina & Mega Lucario stretch (EP30–EP34).
Synopsis
The group meet Korrina, the Shalour Gym Leader, whose Lucario beats Pikachu for her 99th straight win, and join her quest for the Mega Stone that will let it Mega Evolve. Skating out of the forest, Korrina challenges Ash, and Lucario overwhelms Pikachu with Swords Dance, Bone Rush and Power-Up Punch; she then gives Pikachu a Sitrus Berry and reveals who she is.
Over lunch Bonnie spots the Key Stone on Korrina’s glove. Korrina explains that her family’s Gym Leaders partner with Pokémon that can Mega Evolve, that her grandfather gave her the stone and taught her the bond matters too, and that she needs a Lucarionite from Geosenge Town. Team Rocket, posing as Mega Evolution appraisers, make off with Lucario, the glove and Pikachu.
Korrina senses Lucario, and the group give chase. In the balloon Lucario’s Swords Dance and Pikachu’s Electro Ball set up a Power-Up Punch that bursts it, and Lucario grabs the Key Stone as they fall. In a tag battle Lucario and Pikachu defeat Pumpkaboo and Inkay and blast Team Rocket off, giving Korrina her hundredth win, and Ash asks to come along to Geosenge Town, to Clemont’s dismay.
