Synopsis
When a mysterious intruder starts deleting the Cerise Laboratory’s research data, Goh’s reclusive Drizzile tracks down the culprit and evolves into Inteleon while protecting Goh. One night Drizzile slips out of its cave to practise its Water Gun aim in frustration, briefly noticing an invisible Kecleon sneaking past. The next morning Chrysa and Ren report that all the data Ash and Goh gathered in Unova has vanished from the laboratory’s computers, and Professor Cerise finds traces of a break-in. The staff change every password, unaware that the invisible Kecleon is still in the building, recording the new passwords with a camera in its mouth. That night Drizzile watches the Kecleon delete more data, and the next morning all the Galar data is gone too. Goh is devastated, since Galar is where he met Cinderace and Drizzile, and Ash tells the staff not to blame themselves as they tighten security further.
Collecting Drizzile’s empty food bowl, Goh tells it what happened and how much the lost memories, including those of their time together, mean to him, and vows to stop the culprit; moved, Drizzile trains harder than ever. That night Goh patrols the lab and spots a door ajar, and Drizzile joins him as the invisible Kecleon starts deleting data again. Drizzile’s Water Gun stops her and makes her visible, and a voice from Kecleon mocks Goh for not catching on sooner. The chase leads to the rooftop, where Kecleon’s Trainer arrives by jetpack: he is Gizmo, who claims to have deleted the data to make room for a laboratory of his own. Kecleon hits Drizzile with Sucker Punch, binds it and throws it into a wall, and as she moves to strike again, Goh steps in front of his partner and swears to protect it.
Memories of its time with Goh well up in Drizzile, and it evolves into Inteleon, blocking Kecleon’s attack and easily defeating her. When Gizmo tries to escape, Inteleon shoots down his jetpack with Snipe Shot and then catches him as he falls, while Kecleon falls head over heels for Inteleon, leaving Gizmo bewildered. Ash is furious, and Goh says he wants Gizmo to understand how much those memories meant. Then Professor Cerise arrives, and Gizmo reveals that he is a huge fan of the professor’s work: the data was never truly lost, and the whole scheme was meant only to get Cerise’s attention. Cerise gives him the autograph he has long wanted, and the matter is settled, though Goh notices that Inteleon has vanished again. Later, at Cerise Park, Goh finds that all his data has been restored, and Inteleon appears silently at his side, the start of a new kind of bond between them.
