Synopsis

On the way to Sunyshore City, Ash, Dawn and Brock help a Pokémon Ranger return a rampaging wild Magnezone and Metagross to the mountain basin where they normally battle. The pair have been tearing towards a nearby town, injuring Trainers whom Brock patches up, and neither Monferno, Mamoswine nor Happiny can stop them.

Pikachu’s Thunderbolt and Pachirisu’s Discharge lure the two Steel-types down the mountain while Team Rocket, trying to recruit them, get blasted away. Ranger Crispin explains that the pair spar in a crater to release built-up magnetism, but a boulder has diverted a stream and flooded it.

Croagunk’s Brick Break shatters the boulder, Buneary’s Ice Beam freezes the remaining water, and Happiny hurls the ice block, frozen Team Rocket included, into a valley. With the basin dry, Magnezone and Metagross resume their battle safely. Gible’s wayward Draco Meteor knocks Piplup into the crater for one last scare before the friends continue towards Daybreak Town.
