Synopsis
Dawn trades places with her look-alike, Princess Salvia, who wins the Arrowroot Contest and then gives Dawn her Togekiss. Dawn, already holding five Ribbons, is sitting out the Contest when Salvia’s attendant Freesia whisks her to the castle, where the princess, a fan of Dawn’s, asks to swap lives for a day.
While Dawn struggles through a gown, endless guests and a strict butler, Salvia enters the Contest disguised as Dawn, with Ash and Brock cheering and Jessilina determined to beat “Dawn”. Salvia’s Togekiss dazzles with Aura Sphere, Sky Attack and Air Slash, and in the final Jessilina’s Seviper drains her points until Dawn’s encouragement from the royal box steadies her.
Togekiss’s Safeguard and Aura Sphere knock out Seviper, and Salvia wins the Arrowroot Ribbon. Backstage she gives it to Jessie, who calls it a pity Ribbon until James and Meowth point out that it is her fifth and qualifies her for the Grand Festival. The two girls switch back, and Salvia asks Dawn to take Togekiss on her journey.
