An Old Family Blend! is the 25th episode of Pokémon DP: Sinnoh League Victors, the thirteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 644th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 649, Bulbapedia code DP182). It first aired in Japan on 24 June 2010 and in the United States on 20 November 2010. It falls within the season’s The Lily of the Valley Conference stretch (EP182–EP185).
Synopsis
Ash reaches Lily of the Valley Island for the Sinnoh League and calls on his old Pokémon, and Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava. Ash registers, Dawn is startled to find Conway sharing their lodgings, and Professor Oak agrees to send Ash several Pokémon from his laboratory.
Disguised Team Rocket steal the five Poké Balls in transit, but Pikachu blasts them off and the balls are found empty. Ash rounds up Corphish, Totodile and Snorlax, then Bayleef, who tackles Barry by mistake, and Oak realises he also sent an unrequested Heracross. The last missing Pokémon, Cyndaquil, is cornered by Team Rocket’s mecha; after Snorlax topples it, Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava and destroys it with its new Eruption.
Oak sends a second group — Glalie, Torkoal, Noctowl, Donphan and Muk — and Ash prepares his team. That night the opening ceremony lights the torch amid fireworks, and Ash spots Nando, Conway, Barry and Paul among the competitors. The first-round pairings appear on the screen: Ash will face Nando.
