Synopsis

On the ferry to the Sinnoh League, the friends join a young treasure hunter named Buck on Dandelion Island, where he catches a Claydol. Buck’s Baltoy can sense hidden treasure, and his pirate map marks the island with Pokémon symbols, which turn out to be warnings of traps.

The group survive exploding Voltorb and Pineco, drive off Vileplume and Gloom with Infernape’s Flamethrower, flee a stampede of Graveler and fall into caverns, where Gible’s Rock Smash scares off a Golem and its Draco Meteor helps them find Piplup. Team Rocket pick another tunnel and are blasted off by the Onix Meowth is standing on.

At ruins carved with Solrock and Lunatone, Team Rocket trigger a panel and a guardian Claydol appears, spinning their Pokémon away. Claydol blocks Piplup’s Bubble Beam and dodges Torterra’s attacks, but Buck’s Baltoy confuses it with Gyro Ball and Solar Beam, and Buck catches it. The treasure turns out to be ancient pottery, which thrills Buck, who dreams of becoming an archaeology professor.
