Synopsis

Ash’s group spend a spooky night inside the Nacrene Museum, home of the city’s Gym, and uncover a Yamask searching for its lost mask. The museum is closed, and its frightened vice curator, Hawes, runs out claiming a Dome Fossil chased him through the dark halls amid flames and sobbing. Iris suspects a curse, while Cilan looks for a scientific explanation.

Hawes, husband of the Gym Leader Lenora, gives them a tour, and the three offer to stay the night to solve the mystery. In the dark a suit of armour, a flaming fossil and a floating mask attack; Pikachu and Oshawott fight back, Pansage smashes an animated Dragonite skeleton, and the mask takes control of Cilan.

Lenora arrives with her Watchog as a Yamask appears, and she explains that Hawes had mistaken the Yamask’s real mask for a replica and added it to the exhibition. Hawes apologises and returns it, and the Yamask forgives him. At sunrise Lenora accepts Ash’s Gym challenge, while Pierce orders Team Rocket to steal the museum’s meteorite.
