Synopsis
Ash’s Egg hatches into a Scraggy that headbutts everything in sight, and Ash catches it after it battles Axew to a draw. On the road to Castelia City the Egg rolls downhill until Pikachu’s Quick Attack saves it, and the newborn Scraggy immediately attacks with Leer and Headbutt, keeps fighting after a gentle Thunderbolt and butts each of Ash’s Pokémon until Snivy trips it.
That night Scraggy wanders off to a tree full of wild Galvantula and is paralysed by Electro Ball, Electroweb and Pin Missile before Pikachu drives them away. Iris brews herbal medicine to cure it. Meanwhile, Team Rocket bring the stolen Meteonite to Pierce’s helicopter lab, where Dr. Zager confirms that it is not of this world.
The next morning Scraggy provokes the whole Galvantula colony and Ash’s team chase them off. At breakfast Axew and Scraggy glare at each other, so Cilan suggests a battle, which ends in a draw when Dragon Rage meets Headbutt. Ash and Iris promise their Pokémon will grow stronger together, and Ash catches Scraggy.
