Sewaddle and Burgh in Pinwheel Forest! is the 18th episode of Pokémon: Black & White, the fourteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 671st episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 676, Bulbapedia code BW018). It first aired in Japan on 27 January 2011 and in the United States on 4 June 2011. It falls within the season’s Pinwheel Forest to Castelia City stretch (EP18–EP23).
Synopsis
In Pinwheel Forest Ash meets the artist and Castelia Gym Leader Burgh and catches a feisty Sewaddle that has rejected him all day. The Sewaddle bites Pikachu, wraps Ash in String Shot and leads the group deep into the woods, where they find Burgh living in a cocoon high in a tree in search of artistic inspiration.
Sewaddle happily bonds with Burgh, Iris, Pikachu and Axew, but keeps snubbing Ash. The next morning a group of Patrat carry it off to their den to feed a sick Patrat with its leaves, and in the confusion Sewaddle is tangled on a fleeing Deerling and blown towards a waterfall.
Ash shields it as they fall, and Burgh’s Leavanny pulls them to safety. Sewaddle finally nuzzles Ash, who catches it, but because his party is full the Poké Ball seals itself. At a Pokémon Center Ash sends Pidove to Professor Juniper, his first team change in Unova, and Burgh, newly inspired, promises to await Ash’s challenge in Castelia City.
