The Dragon Master’s Path! is the 27th episode of Pokémon: Black & White, the fourteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 680th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 685, Bulbapedia code BW027). It first aired in Japan on 14 April 2011 and in the United States on 6 August 2011. It falls within the season’s Emolga, Bianca & Iris’s dragons stretch (EP24–EP33).
Synopsis
Iris reveals her dream of becoming a Dragon Master while helping a new Trainer, Emmy, bond with her runaway Druddigon, and Axew finally masters Dragon Rage. The Druddigon bursts in on a practice battle with Flamethrower, its Focus Blast cancelled by Pikachu’s Electro Ball, and flees with a cord tangled around its ankle.
Iris tracks it to a mountain of caves, frees it and meets Emmy, who asks for help, so Iris coaches her through a practice battle in which Druddigon beats Ash’s Tepig with Dragon Claw. Team Rocket, who have been watching, rope Druddigon and Axew and carry them off.
The two Dragon-types escape from Team Rocket’s ship, which crashes, and when the trio corner them, Pikachu’s Thunderbolt gives them a chance to fight back. Druddigon learns Draco Meteor and defeats Yamask, while Axew’s Dragon Rage finally works, driving Team Rocket away. Emmy sets off with Druddigon, and Ash and Iris renew their own goals.
