Synopsis
Ash’s group coach a lovesick male Cottonee so he can win the female he loves before the Cottonee depart from Rainbow Valley on the Diamond Breeze. Cilan explains that Cottonee gather there each year to pair off, but this one has been rejected after the female beat him with Stun Spore, Energy Ball and Razor Leaf to test his worth.
Ash makes Scraggy his sparring partner, and Cottonee learns to dodge Headbutt while Iris helps him aim Energy Ball before he practises against each of the group’s Pokémon. Meanwhile, Team Rocket plan to catch the Cottonee massing in the valley.
Following the wind, the friends reach Rainbow Valley as Team Rocket trap the Cottonee in a giant bag. The Pokémon break free and blind the trio, who crash and flee. Cottonee then defeats two rival males, wins the female’s affection, and the pair fly off together on the Diamond Breeze.
