Synopsis
A spoiled Gothita falls for Ash’s Scraggy and pushes her Trainer, Katharine, into demanding a trade. After a sparring match with Axew, Scraggy is knocked over by the Gothita, who uses Psychic to drag Katharine into offering Ash one of her Pokémon for him. When Ash refuses, Katharine goads him into a battle by calling his four Badges fake, with Scraggy as the prize.
Ash’s Tepig defeats Katharine’s Mandibuzz when its Flame Charge meets Brave Bird head-on, but Gothita will not accept the loss. A thunderstorm forces everyone to spend the night at Katharine’s cabin, and Gothita lures Scraggy out to an apple tree; Axew and Snivy follow.
When Axew and Gothita fight over Scraggy, Gothita lands on a sleeping Garbodor and provokes it into firing Sludge Bomb, Toxic and Clear Smog, while Snivy shields the others. Katharine’s Deerling calms Garbodor with Aromatherapy. Annoyed by Gothita’s attitude, Snivy accepts her challenge the next day and beats her with Leaf Blade and Leaf Storm, and Gothita storms off in a tantrum with Katharine chasing after her.
