Cameron’s Secret Weapon! is the 10th episode of Pokémon: BW Adventures in Unova and Beyond, the sixteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 760th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 765, Bulbapedia code BW107). It first aired in Japan on 20 December 2012 and in the United States on 6 April 2013. It falls within the season’s The Vertress Conference stretch (EP103–EP108).
Synopsis
Ash and Cameron trade knockouts in their six-on-six Full Battle until Cameron’s last Pokémon, Riolu, begins to evolve into Lucario. Hydreigon defeats Boldore with Dragon Pulse and Oshawott with Double Hit and Dragon Rush, but Pignite’s new Brick Break, Flame Charge and Fire Pledge bring it down and then burn through Ferrothorn.
Samurott’s Aqua Jet ends Pignite’s run, Pikachu topples Samurott with two Iron Tails, and a single Electro Ball defeats Swanna, giving Ash a four-to-three lead. Cameron then sends out Riolu and admits he thought a Full Battle was five-on-five, so Riolu alone must face Ash’s last three Pokémon.
Riolu outmanoeuvres Unfezant with Force Palm, a copied Air Cutter, Vacuum Wave and a Circle Throw that slams her into the wall. Snivy hits back hard with Leaf Blade, Vine Whip and Leaf Storm, but the battered Riolu rises to Cameron’s encouragement and starts glowing with evolution as Ash and Snivy look on.
