A Unova League Evolution! is the 11th episode of Pokémon: BW Adventures in Unova and Beyond, the sixteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 761st episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 766, Bulbapedia code BW108). It first aired in Japan on 10 January 2013 and in the United States on 13 April 2013. It falls within the season’s The Vertress Conference stretch (EP103–EP108).
Synopsis
Cameron’s newly evolved Lucario defeats Snivy and Pikachu to knock Ash out of the Vertress Conference in the Top 8, and Virgil goes on to win the tournament. Lucario’s Force Palm, Circle Throw and a homing Aura Sphere beat Snivy, and the worn-out Pikachu matches it move for move, Electro Ball against Aura Sphere and Iron Tail against a copied Iron Tail, until Aura Sphere overpowers his final all-out Electro Ball.
In the semi-final, Virgil’s Flareon dodges Lucario with Double Team and burns through Aura Sphere with Fire Blast. In the final, Virgil’s Eevee escapes Dino’s Druddigon with Dig, strikes with Iron Tail and wins with Trump Card.
Davy flies the champion home, Bianca arrives too late and treats everyone to Casteliacones, and Cameron runs off to train. In the sauna Ash tells Stephan he will not go home to Pallet Town yet, and at sunset he looks back on his journey from the empty stadium until Iris and Cilan call him to leave.
