Synopsis
Searching for a lead on Lucius’s Entei, the Rising Volt Tacklers look up Wy-Yes, an Occulture journalist and former crew member whose tall tales embarrass Mollie, and help settle a territorial clash between Farigiraf and Espathra at a dried-up oasis. Mollie is plainly annoyed at the prospect of meeting him and doubtful of anything he says. While the Brave Olivine waits on a savanna, Liko, Roy and Dot explore and find an oasis with almost no water, where an angry Farigiraf attacks them until they drive it off together. A man with a Wynaut then approaches, convinced that they belong to a secret society that fights Pokémon and that he has a scoop, and Friede introduces him as Wy-Yes, who left the crew before Dot joined. Aboard the ship he is delighted to see his old friends, especially Mollie, and hints that she once looked very different until her glare silences him. Before Friede can ask about Entei, Wy-Yes assumes he wants to hear about his recent exploits and leads him off to talk.
Dot recognises Wy-Yes as a writer for her favourite magazine, Occulture, just as he walks in on the children reading his article on Legendary Pokémon and offers to write about them, flustering her. Roy tries to ask about Entei, but Wy-Yes launches into tall tales about the crew instead: that Murdock invented a famous dessert, which was popular only briefly and only aboard the ship; that Orla built a supersonic plane that circled the globe, which she denies; and that Ludlow is a steel-bodied superhero, which the children dismiss at once. On the wing deck he moves on to Mollie, producing a photo of a younger Mollie with a different hairstyle whom he describes as clingy and demure, and the furious Mollie has Chansey launch him and Wynaut into the distance. They land near the oasis beside Friede, who is investigating the Farigiraf’s anger, and when Liko tries to ask about Entei, Wy-Yes shushes her, sensing several Farigiraf approaching.
Three enraged Farigiraf charge in but turn on an incoming Espathra, and Dot realises the oasis is their territory. The clash of Psybeams and Psychic fills the area with strange energy and shakes loose part of the cliff above; alerted by Noctowl, Mollie arrives and has Chansey smash the falling boulder. Dot notices bubbles rising in the pond and has Crocalor break the rock at its centre with Stomping Tantrum, and water pours in to refill the oasis, which Friede suspects a landslide had blocked. The Pokémon stop fighting and drink side by side. Back aboard, Wy-Yes finally hears the question and says that Entei was sighted in Olivine City, Johto. Mollie assures Liko the tip is reliable, since Wynaut reacts to truth and falsehood and reacted eagerly to the news, and Liko recalls that it reacted the same way to the stories about Mollie’s past, making her blush. Later, Dot is flustered and her friends delighted to find the children mentioned anonymously in Occulture’s new article on the savanna incident.

- The screenplay is by Naohiro Fukushima.
- This is a stand-alone episode: it can be skipped without losing the thread of the Paldea, Kitakami and Johto story.
Changes in the English Dub
- Mollie’s “Tackle” becomes “hit it”
- The Latin American Spanish dub adds a “blasting off again” line for Wy-Yes
