Synopsis

Liko, Roy, Dot and Ult beat Indi and Rubina’s Laquium-crazed Tauros with a collision trap, and the original crew reunites aboard the restored Brave Olivine, where a long-delayed message reveals that Friede and Charizard are alive. The two Tauros open with super effective Raging Bull attacks on Meowscarada and Crocalor, intercepting Magical Leaf and counterattacking without any command from their Trainers; Quaxwell’s Aqua Cutter and Sableye’s Power Gem cover Meowscarada’s retreat. Dot notices that, as with Stunner Fisk, the Explorers never call out moves. When Sableye’s Confuse Ray sends Indi’s Tauros charging into Rubina’s, Dot realises that Laquium heightens a Pokémon’s fighting instincts but stops it from obeying its Trainer. She sets a trap: when the Tauros charge again, Meowscarada and Crocalor leap apart at the last second, the Tauros collide, and all four Pokémon finish them. Liko and Roy tell the Explorers that Strong Spheres can never beat the bond between a Pokémon and its Trainer, and the visitors leave without the shells.

Karna admits that hers was not the only factory making shells, and the children resolve to stop the spheres reaching the public. Orla, reminded that Friede would never let this continue, decides to rejoin the Rising Volt Tacklers and fly the Brave Olivine again, asking for three days to get it into perfect condition; the children help clean it. On departure day, Orla reveals that Mollie and Murdock have both received permission from their workplaces to rejoin, and Ludlow, who has no smartphone, is already in his seat, having “heard from the waves” that the ship was leaving. Ult announces that he wants to be captain but learns that Captain Pikachu holds the position; everyone welcomes him anyway. Booting up the team app’s server, Dot finds an encrypted voice message from a month earlier: Friede says that he and Charizard survived being blown off the ship at Laqua, could not write sooner because the Explorers were watching him, and is investigating Laquium alone until he can return.

The crew celebrates their reunion and Friede’s survival. Saying goodbye, Orla gives Karna a Poké Ball she made herself; Karna jokes that it is not as good as Orla’s usual work but promises to cherish a ball only Orla could make, just as Orla cherished the one Karna once gave her. As the Brave Olivine takes to the sky for the first time in a year, Roy suggests marking the occasion, and on the wing deck Liko leads the Rising Volt Tacklers — Ult included, slightly bewildered — through their signature handshake while “Heart-Pounding Diary” plays (replaced in the dub by a remix of “Becoming Me”). At Exceed, Indi and Rubina report their failure to Spinel, who excuses them and sends them back to their missions; on hearing that the Rising Volt Tacklers are active again, he begins plotting to get rid of them once more. This is the 100th episode of Pokémon Horizons, and the preview is narrated by the whole crew.
