Synopsis

The Tacklers begin training in Blueberry Academy’s Terarium, reunite with Briar and Carmine, and Roy asks the laid-back Elite Four member Drayton for guidance — only to lose to him in a rain-soaked Double Battle. One morning the group runs into Briar and her assistant Carmine, whom they had briefly forgotten since meeting them in Kitakami, and explains the trouble caused by the Strong Spheres; Briar agrees to investigate, eager to uncover another side of Terapagos. Lacey assigns training opponents and spots across the four biomes, then goes looking for Drayton and Ult, both of whom wandered off during her explanation. In the Savanna Biome, Liko’s Meowscarada and Charcadet battle a wild Pyroar and Ann joins them; in the Coastal Biome, Dot’s Tinkaton fights a Crabrawler; in the Polar Biome, Lacey offers Ult advice, but before he can act on it a sleeping Overqwil attacks him and he runs off again. In the Canyon Biome, Roy trains unaware that Drayton is watching.

When Kilowattrel saves Crocalor from falling off a bridge, Drayton compliments their teamwork, and Roy asks him for training; Drayton agrees to guide him by Rotom Phone. While Roy gathers berries as instructed, Lacey arrives and is furious to find that Drayton is using Roy to complete his own Blueberry Quests under the cover of training. In the League Club Room, Cyrano explains that Director Clavell asked him to look after the visitors and mentions Roy’s battle against Hassel, which catches Drayton’s interest, since his grandfather Drayden is friends with the art teacher — Drayton is revealed to be Drayden’s grandson. Meanwhile, ignoring Lacey’s advice, Ult has Sableye battle a wild Galvantula in the Chargestone Cavern and wins, but Lacey spots the Electroweb on Sableye and realises that he did not listen, so he flees once more. Dot reunites with Penny thanks to Gimmighoul, and Carmine tells Liko that Briar wants to see her, Dot and Pagogo, adding that she should keep going no matter what others think.

Drayton takes Roy to the Polar Plaza for a Double Battle: Archaludon and Kingdra against Crocalor and Kilowattrel. Kingdra’s Hurricane keeps Kilowattrel at bay, Archaludon’s Electro Shot blocks Electro Ball, Kingdra’s Disarming Voice lands a super effective hit, and Snarl cancels Roy’s sound-based move. Crocalor rides Kilowattrel to dodge Hydro Pump, Draco Meteor rains down, and Hurricane scatters the meteors unpredictably until Disarming Voice and Uproar push them away. Drayton then has Kingdra use Rain Dance, boosting its Speed through Swift Swim, and the rain lets Archaludon fire Electro Shot instantly, knocking out Kilowattrel. Crocalor’s Stomping Tantrum slips on the wet ground, and a powered-up Wave Crash from Kingdra wins the battle for Drayton. Roy is determined to get stronger but confused when Drayton tells him to relax instead. In the Coastal Biome, Lacey finally catches up with Ult and declares that they will study together so he can become stronger. An instrumental of “Only One Story” plays as the Tacklers start training.
