Plot episodeDrew debutsMay’s Pokéblock Case
Now That’s Flower Power! is the 33rd episode of Pokémon: Advanced, the sixth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 306th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 309, Bulbapedia code AG033). It first aired in Japan on 10 July 2003 and in the United States on 22 May 2004. It falls within the season’s Slateport City: Drew & May’s first Contest stretch (EP32–EP36).
Synopsis
Slateport City is full of Coordinators preparing for its Contest, and May’s Beautifly keeps failing to pull off Silver Wind in training. A green-haired boy named Drew catches a stray Frisbee from her practice, mocks her skills and leaves her fuming, while Jessie trains Dustox for the same Contest.
Mr. Big, a former Coordinator and Berry expert, introduces May to Pokéblocks, gives her a Pokéblock Case and invites the group to make blocks at his shop — but Torchic eats his whole supply of Bluk Berries. Searching for more, the group finds a tree with a single fruit-bearing branch, which Team Rocket and Drew both want.
May and Drew settle it with a mock Contest battle. Drew’s Roselia nearly finishes Beautifly with Petal Dance and Stun Spore, but Silver Wind finally works and turns back Magical Leaf to win. Team Rocket snatch the Berries, absorbing Pikachu’s Thunderbolt with a dish until Roselia’s Solar Beam joins in and blasts them away, and Beautifly catches the falling branch with String Shot. Drew leaves looking forward to their Contest battle, and everyone watches Mr. Big’s fireworks.
