Synopsis
On the road to Mauville City the group finds a mountain Pokémon Center deserted, and in Nurse Joy’s room Ash and Pikachu are knocked out by lingering Stun Spore. Security footage shows a Shiftry climbing in and carrying Joy away, and Team Rocket, blown out of a tree by the same Shiftry, decide to catch it.
Since Shiftry live in very old trees, the friends head for the biggest tree in the forest, fighting through Oddish, Seedot and Nuzleaf on the way. At the tree Joy wakes among a crowd of Pokémon, and a Seedot leads her to a feverish Nuzleaf: Shiftry kidnapped her only so she could treat it.
Ash’s Treecko challenges Shiftry and is outclassed, and Team Rocket’s interruption ends with Whirlwind and Bullet Seed knocking out Treecko and blasting the trio away. Joy explains there is no need to fight but she needs medicine from the Center, so Shiftry carries Brock there and back at tremendous speed. By morning the Nuzleaf is well, and the group says goodbye before continuing toward Mauville.
