Synopsis
Ash wins the Icicle Badge from Candice in a four-on-four Gym battle, with Chimchar snowboarding to victory over her Abomasnow. With Mr. Honcho refereeing, Grotle opens despite its type disadvantage, climbing to high ground with Rock Climb and ramming Candice’s Sneasel into the ice.
Staraptor recovers from Medicham’s Confusion and wins with Close Combat and Brave Bird, but Snover’s Ice Beam, Bullet Seed and Icy Wind knock out Gliscor. Chimchar listens for Snover through a cloud of steam and defeats it with Flamethrower. Meanwhile Team Rocket tunnel into the school’s Poké Ball storeroom, until Jeremiah’s Skuntank drives them off with Stench.
Candice’s Abomasnow overpowers Chimchar with Blizzard, knocks out Staraptor with one Ice Punch and Grotle with Wood Hammer. Chimchar returns, rides a chunk of ice like a snowboard, uses the ice boulders as cover and finishes Abomasnow with Flamethrower and a direct Flame Wheel. Ash receives his seventh Badge, and as everyone celebrates, Paul arrives to challenge Candice.
