Pillars of Friendship! is the 24th episode of Pokémon DP: Galactic Battles, the twelfth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 591st episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 596, Bulbapedia code DP129). It first aired in Japan on 28 May 2009 and in the United States on 24 October 2009. It falls within the season’s Snowpoint City stretch (EP126–EP129).
Synopsis
Pokémon Hunter J awakens the legendary Regigigas at Snowpoint Temple, and Brandon is turned to stone protecting it. Maria explains that Regigigas sleeps in the temple, guarded by Regirock, Regice and Registeel, who became its pillars; aboard the Battle Pyramid, Ash, Dawn and Brock fly there with Brandon, but J’s henchmen force it to crash-land.
J’s Salamence destroys the three pillars, and the awakened Regigigas rampages. Brandon’s Regis rescue the group from the collapsing temple and weaken Regigigas, but J’s Ariados ties everyone up before he can capture it. Regigigas’s Confuse Ray turns the three Regis against J, and the four giants head towards the city, firing Hyper Beam at the mountains.
J tries to petrify Regigigas with her bracelet, but Regirock, Registeel, Regice and finally Brandon throw themselves in front of the blasts. Pikachu and Piplup attack J’s airship, and when Regigigas deflects Salamence’s Dragon Pulse into J’s bracelet, she retreats. Regigigas thaws Brandon and his Pokémon with Hidden Power and returns to rest, and Brandon stays to rebuild the temple.
