Frozen on Their Tracks! is the 25th episode of Pokémon DP: Galactic Battles, the twelfth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 592nd episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 597, Bulbapedia code DP130). It first aired in Japan on 4 June 2009 and in the United States on 31 October 2009. It falls within the season’s Lake Acuity: the Full Battle stretch (EP130–EP133).
Synopsis
On a train to Lake Acuity, Ash and his friends meet Looker, a clumsy but kind passenger who is secretly investigating Team Galactic. Looker hands out boxed lunches, the driver’s Ampharos powers the train with Thunderbolt, and when the train halts at a red signal, Looker goes off alone to check a disused line whose points have recently been changed.
During a picnic, Team Rocket’s suction machine pulls in the friends’ Pokémon; Ampharos frees most of them with Signal Beam and Thunder Punch, but Pikachu, Piplup and Happiny are carried away with it. Chased by Fearow, the four jump from a cliff, and Happiny moves a boulder blocking their path while Staraptor searches for them.
Team Rocket recapture the group, but Staraptor slices them free with Aerial Ace. Brock’s Sudowoodo uses its new Hammer Arm and Pikachu’s Volt Tackle blasts the trio off. At sunset the train resumes its journey, and Looker, who has found a warehouse on the old line, reports to his superiors with a paper bearing the Team Galactic logo.
