Plot episodeDaybreak Contest, part 1“Dee Dee” explained
Yes in Dee Dee, It’s Dawn! is the 4th episode of Pokémon DP: Sinnoh League Victors, the thirteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 623rd episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 628, Bulbapedia code DP161). It first aired in Japan on 28 January 2010 and in the United States on 26 June 2010. It falls within the season’s The Daybreak Contest stretch (EP161–EP162).
Synopsis
At the Daybreak Contest, Dawn meets her rival Ursula again and reveals why a Plusle and Minun terrify her. Ursula’s Cheering Pokémon send Dawn’s hair standing on end and she faints, while Team Rocket prepare Jessie’s comeback as Jessilina.
At the Pokémon Center, Dawn explains that in kindergarten she squeezed the class Plusle and Minun too hard and they shocked her, and her childhood friend Kenny began calling her “Dee Dee”. Ash insists Pokémon never attack without reason and urges her to face Ursula, who overhears and laughs.
In the Double Performance round, Jessilina’s Carnivine and Seviper dance in sync, Dawn’s Piplup and Buneary bounce among frozen bubbles before bursting them into glitter, and Ursula’s Gabite and Jigglypuff close with Jigglypuff balanced on Gabite’s claw. Marian announces that Dawn, Ursula and Jessilina all advance to the Battle Stage. Then Ursula reminds Dawn of her fear, Plusle and Minun leap out, and Dawn shrieks as the episode ends.
