Opposites Interact! is the 18th episode of Pokémon DP: Sinnoh League Victors, the thirteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 637th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 642, Bulbapedia code DP175). It first aired in Japan on 6 May 2010 and in the United States on 25 September 2010. It falls within the season’s The Sinnoh Grand Festival stretch (EP174–EP177).
Synopsis
Dawn defeats Ursula in the Grand Festival’s Battle Stage with seven seconds left on the clock. Her Pachirisu and Mamoswine face Ursula’s Gabite and Flareon, and an early Discharge hits Mamoswine as well as Flareon. Then Flareon’s Scary Face inside Gabite’s Sandstorm rattles Mamoswine, and Double Team, Shadow Ball, Fire Spin and Dragon Claw drain Dawn to a fifth of her points.
Dawn fights back with Spark and an Ice Chandelier that halves Ursula’s score, but Gabite’s Dig smashes Pachirisu into a wall and breaks the ice. Repeated Dig and Shadow Ball attacks leave Dawn nearly out of points.
Dawn has Pachirisu hide in one of Gabite’s holes while Mamoswine fires Ice Shard into them; Discharge flashes from below, Ancient Power splits the ground, and a new chandelier bursts out with Pachirisu spinning inside. It crashes into both opponents, knocking out Gabite and Flareon with seven seconds to spare. Zoey, Nando and Jessilina also win, and a sulking Ursula grudgingly wishes Dawn luck.
