Synopsis

Ash and Trip meet again on the road to Nimbasa City and fight their third battle, which ends in a draw. Racing Iris to an Oran Berry tree, Ash slides downhill and ruins Trip’s attempt to catch a Palpitoad, and Iris, who turns out to be afraid of Ice-types, panics at Trip’s new Vanillite. Trip mocks her dream of becoming a Dragon Master but accepts a three-on-three challenge.

Servine blocks Snivy’s Attract with Leaf Tornado and wins with Cut, and Trip recalls how meeting the Champion, Alder, inspired him as a boy. Trip’s Timburr then shrugs off Oshawott’s Aqua Jet until Trip notices that Oshawott shuts its eyes when it uses the move.

Oshawott wins with Razor Shell, and in the final round Tepig and Vanillite knock each other out, tying the match. Trip decides he has nothing to learn from Ash’s style and leaves, and Ash and Iris return to find Cilan waiting with a feast.
