Synopsis
Ash, Iris and Cilan star in a film by Luke, an aspiring director whose Zorua refuses to act in any role but the princess. Luke’s Golett handles his equipment, and he explains that he met the shape-shifting Zorua at an old theatre run by Mr. Matthews, where it liked to impersonate the leading ladies.
Cilan guesses that Zorua only wants to play the princess, and the friends volunteer as cast and crew: Ash as the Pokémon Knight, Cilan as a pirate captain and Iris as a dragon master. Ash struggles with his lines, Axew improvises a Dragon Rage, and Team Rocket, who have been watching, capture Zorua during the climactic cave scene.
Golett blasts their plane with Shadow Ball, Pansage frees Zorua and Tranquill catches it, and Zorua transforms into a female Meowth before driving the trio off with Night Daze. Cilan ad-libs a twist ending, the film is a hit, and Mr. Matthews tells the friends about a battle tournament in Nimbasa, which all four decide to enter.
