Plot episodeClub Battle, part 2Cilan beats Trip
Cilan Versus Trip, Ash Versus Georgia! is the 40th episode of Pokémon: Black & White, the fourteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 693rd episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 698, Bulbapedia code BW040). It first aired in Japan on 21 July 2011 and in the United States on 5 November 2011. It falls within the season’s Don George’s Club Battle stretch (EP39–EP42).
Synopsis
The Club Battle’s first round ends with wins for Cilan, Stephan, Luke and Iris, and Ash begins his second-round match against Georgia. Cilan’s Dwebble faces Trip’s Gurdurr, recently evolved from Timburr, and buries it under Rock Slide after Shell Smash before finishing it with Slash.
Stephan’s Zebstrika beats Bianca’s Minccino, Luke’s Golett defeats Scooter’s Darmanitan with Shadow Punch, and Iris’s Emolga beats Jimmy Ray’s Watchog with Attract and Hidden Power. Trip leaves Nimbasa, saying his Pokémon will not grow by watching others battle, while Zorua causes chaos at dinner by disguising itself as Iris and Axew.
The second-round draw sets Ash against Georgia, Dino against Antonio, Cilan against Luke and Iris against Stephan. Georgia’s Pawniard cuts through Snivy’s Leaf Storm with Metal Claw, and Attract fails because Pawniard is female. Snivy lands Vine Whip and Leaf Blade, but Pawniard dodges, throws her and prepares another Guillotine as the episode ends.
