Plot episodeClubsplosion, part 1Scraggy learns Focus Blast
The Clubsplosion Begins! is the 22nd episode of Pokémon: BW Rival Destinies, the fifteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 723rd episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 728, Bulbapedia code BW070). It first aired in Japan on 15 March 2012 and in the United States on 14 July 2012. It falls within the season’s The Clubsplosion stretch (EP70–EP73).
Synopsis
Don George’s Clubsplosion tournament opens in Ambiga Town, reuniting Ash with his rivals and teaching Scraggy a still-unpolished Focus Blast. Bianca knocks Ash into a canal on arrival, Trip shows off a Conkeldurr evolved from his Gurdurr, and Burgundy and Georgia vow revenge on Cilan and Iris. The prize is a year’s supply of Vitamins, and the draw pits Bianca against Trip in the first round.
Stephan’s Sawk opens with a win over Edmund’s Seismitoad, using Low Sweep to slow it in the rain before finishing it with Bulk Up and Close Combat. The muscle-bound Montgomery and his Throh then mock Sawk. Cilan’s Pansage beats Flora’s Gothorita with a surprise Dig.
Ash’s Scraggy struggles against Angus’s Simisage, which pins it by stepping on its loose skin and pounds it with Low Sweep. As Simisage charges with Giga Impact, Scraggy forms a ball of energy that blocks the attack, learning Focus Blast. Its next Focus Blast flies wide, but Leer and Headbutt win the match, and Iris’s Excadrill takes the field against Burgundy’s Dewott.
