Search for the Clubultimate! is the 23rd episode of Pokémon: BW Rival Destinies, the fifteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 724th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 729, Bulbapedia code BW071). Synopsis
Iris beats Burgundy as the first round of the Clubsplosion continues, and Trip’s Conkeldurr takes on Bianca’s newly evolved Emboar. Burgundy’s Dewott fights back hard with Ice Beam, Water Pulse and Revenge, but Excadrill’s Dig and Drill Run finish it, and Iris moves on.
At lunch Trip notes that Scraggy has not mastered Focus Blast, so Stephan and Sawk help Ash train it, while Montgomery’s Throh shows off by tearing apart a punching bag. In the next matches Betty’s Simipour knocks out Getty’s Simisear with Low Sweep, Georgia’s Bisharp, evolved from Pawniard, beats Gail’s Druddigon with Metal Sound and Iron Head, and Throh overwhelms Delbert’s Mienshao with Superpower, Seismic Toss and Circle Throw.
In the last first-round match, Bianca’s Pignite turns out to have evolved into Emboar, but Conkeldurr blocks its Arm Thrust, Hammer Arm and Flamethrower with its concrete pillars. Trip powers up with Bulk Up, lands Strength and traps Emboar with Rock Tomb, and he orders Stone Edge to finish the match.
