Commanding the Clubsplosion Crown! is the 25th episode of Pokémon: BW Rival Destinies, the fifteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 726th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 731, Bulbapedia code BW073). It first aired in Japan on 5 April 2012 and in the United States on 4 August 2012. It falls within the season’s The Clubsplosion stretch (EP70–EP73).
Synopsis
Stephan wins the Clubsplosion, defeating Bianca in the semi-finals and Montgomery’s Throh in a gruelling final. Sawk powers up with Bulk Up, survives Emboar’s Fling and knocks it out with two swift Karate Chops, while Throh frightens Ash’s Scraggy, sidesteps a string of missed Focus Blasts and wins with Circle Throw, Superpower and Seismic Toss.
The final is a contest of strength: Throh repeatedly throws Sawk with Circle Throw and pins it with Bind, while Sawk breaks free with Close Combat and builds power with Bulk Up. After a Seismic Toss slams both Pokémon into the ground, they struggle back to their feet as Stephan and the crowd cheer.
When Throh moves in with Bind, Sawk counters with Close Combat, bows to its opponent and walks away as Throh faints from exhaustion. Stephan wins a year’s supply of Vitamins, shakes hands with Montgomery and still has to correct everyone’s pronunciation of his name, even the narrator’s, as Ash and his friends set out for Icirrus City.
