Synopsis
Giovanni arrives in Unova to launch Operation Tempest, captures Meloetta and uses its song to raise the Abyssal Ruins from the bottom of Undella Bay. A training battle between Meloetta and Krookodile is interrupted by a Golurk’s Flash Cannon; its Trainer, Ridley, accuses the group of stealing Meloetta, then explains that his family of Protectors has guarded it for thousands of years and that Team Rocket stole it from his forest.
Team Rocket surround Cynthia’s villa with fog, and their Grunts’ Golem and Rhydon hold Ridley back while Jessie and James attack Ash’s group. Fleeing with Meloetta, Ash and Pikachu face Giovanni and his Persian. When Giovanni traps them in a shrinking cube and threatens to crush them, Meloetta surrenders.
At the ruins Meloetta is pinned to an altar, and a recording of its song unlocks a hidden temple. Giovanni explains that only after finding peace with Ash could Meloetta sing its long-lost Relic Song again, which brings forth the Reveal Glass, and the pyramid-shaped ruins rise from the sea. Ridley, Iris and Cilan tell Cynthia what has happened, and Jervis readies a cruiser for the rescue.
