Synopsis
Serena meets a rival Poké Puff baker named Miette, and the two enter a Poké Puff Contest that Team Rocket try to sabotage. When Miette’s Slurpuff snatches one of Serena’s Poké Puffs, Miette calls them merely decent and hands out her own “perfect” ones, starting a bickering rivalry; Bonnie spots a contest poster, and both girls reach the final alongside the Berrybaker kids while Team Rocket burn their entries.
Searching for Berries for the final round, the group find every vendor sold out and the forest stripped. Serena is attacked by a swarm of angry Swirlix until Pikachu’s Thunderbolt and Fennekin’s Flamethrower drive them off, and Slurpuff, which understands the Swirlix, leads everyone to a cliff full of Berries.
Team Rocket’s Octillery Mark Three mecha crashes in, vacuuming up the Berries, the Swirlix and Pikachu. Ash blocks the intake, Fennekin overheats the engine, the Swirlix bind the machine in sticky thread, and Thunderbolt, Slurpuff’s Energy Ball and Flamethrower blast Team Rocket off. The Berrybaker kids win, Serena and Miette vow to keep improving, and Miette warns Serena to tell Ash how she feels or Miette will.
