Synopsis
A sleepover at Professor Kukui’s house brings the whole class together with Professor Burnet, but a chance meeting with Gladion’s Type: Null leaves Lillie unable to touch Pokémon again. The day begins at Lillie’s mansion, where Hobbes films her breakfast with Snowy because Lusamine asked for the footage; when her mother is distracted by yet another business call, Lillie leaves for a walk. At Kukui’s house, Burnet finishes her tests on Nebby just as Ash’s classmates arrive for the sleepover, and they invite her to stay. To decide who gets Ash’s loft bed, the students make a game of catching Nebby, which keeps teleporting away whenever someone spots it. Lillie finally finds it hiding under her hat, and the girls win the loft.
Next, Rotom turns itself into a slot machine for a game of Z-Move poses, in which players must strike the right pose or name the Z-Move when the symbols match; the game ends abruptly when Kiawe and Turtonator unleash a real Inferno Overdrive. Burnet starts dinner with help from Lillie, Ash and Mallow, and after an argument over the television the group settles on a Pokémon Base game—only for Burnet’s Munchlax to eat the entire meal. While the professors go out for more food, the students train on the beach, and dinner is finally cooked. Talk of families at bedtime makes Lillie think about her mother and Gladion, and when she cannot sleep, she walks on the beach with Snowy. Burnet joins her and assures her that Lusamine thinks about her constantly.
The next morning, as Ash walks his classmates home, Lillie quietly wishes she could talk to Gladion, and Nebby promptly teleports her to the cave where he is staying. Type: Null senses danger and leaps towards her, and the sight triggers a buried childhood memory of Gladion’s Pokémon lunging at her. Terrified, Lillie freezes as Gladion reaches for her, and Nebby teleports her back to her friends. Afterwards she discovers that she can no longer touch any Pokémon, not even Snowy, and the episode’s cheerful mood turns heavy. Back at Kukui’s house, a lighter scene closes the day: Rotom practises its Z-Move poses while Ash eats a curry so spicy that he gulps water and shouts in pain, and Rotom admits it has no pose for that.
