Synopsis
Faba steals Gladion’s Type: Null and tries to erase Lillie’s memories beneath Aether Paradise, until Type: Null breaks free of its mask, evolves into Silvally and helps Lillie remember—and overcome—the Ultra Beast attack behind her fear. Lillie’s diary admits that she is now afraid to touch Snowy. That night an angry Gladion confronts Ash on the beach about what happened with Lillie. Back at his motel, Gladion is visited by Faba, who claims that Lusamine wants Type: Null back. Gladion refuses and battles him but is defeated, and Faba’s Hypno uses Hypnosis to stop him from recalling Type: Null before Faba walks off with the Premier Ball. The next day, Ash’s classmates and the professors gather around Lillie, but when she tries again to touch Snowy, she freezes.
Walking home with Ash, Lillie guesses that he has met Gladion, and when he admits it, she tells him about her brother and Type: Null. Encouraged by Ash, she resolves to recover all of her memories, and Nebby begins teleporting the two of them to places from her childhood, each stirring memories of her family. At last Nebby takes them to the research area beneath Aether Paradise, where Faba has locked the Premier Ball in a drawer and now receives an intruder alert. Meanwhile, Gladion confronts Lusamine, who denies ever asking Faba to retrieve Type: Null and recalls that Faba once called it a failure. Faba orders his Team Rocket employees to bring him Lillie so that he can erase her memories, but the trio refuse and walk out on the job.
Faba’s Hypno and Alakazam ambush Ash and Lillie; Alakazam sends Ash flying, and Faba grabs Lillie. Gladion and Lusamine search Faba’s lab, find Type: Null’s ball and set off an alarm. Hypno begins wiping Lillie’s memories until Pikachu stops it, and Nebby shields everyone from another Hypnosis while Alakazam lifts Lillie into the air. Gladion arrives and sends out Type: Null, which breaks free of its mask, becomes Silvally and pulls Lillie to safety. The rescue unlocks her memories: years ago, with Faba present, Silvally saved her from a Nihilego. Using the Dark Memory, Silvally’s Multi-Attack defeats Faba’s Pokémon, and Faba recalls them and sneaks away. Lusamine apologises to her daughter, Lillie thanks Silvally, and she finds that she can touch Pokémon again.
