Synopsis
Professor Kukui proposes to Professor Burnet, Ash’s classmates secretly stage a beach wedding for them, and Lusamine invites the class to become the Ultra Guardians. Lillie writes in her diary about rescuing her mother, and at school she reports that Lusamine is recovering quickly. Ash, though, is gazing out of the window: Nebby vanished before he could thank it, and he promises to help his friends whenever they need it. At sunset, Kukui and Burnet stroll along the beach. Burnet says that they think alike and teases him about whether he knows what she is thinking, then points at him and declares that she chooses him. Kukui opens a Poké Ball to reveal a ring and proposes, and Burnet happily accepts. That evening the couple tell Ash and his Pokémon the news, and everyone celebrates with a hug.
When Ash tells the class that there will be no ceremony, the girls decide to plan one in secret as a present. At Aina’s Kitchen they design invitations, Ash and Sophocles report that Samson Oak will officiate, Lillie says Olivia will attend, and Mallow has arranged a cake of Alolan pancakes made by Nina. That night, as Ash looks at the stars and wishes Nebby were there, Gladion appears with Umbreon. He declines the invitation, explaining that Pikachu’s 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt has inspired him to take on the island challenge, and asks Ash to pass on his congratulations. Ash promises to keep up his own challenge and hopes for a rematch, and Gladion smiles and waves as he walks away. The next morning, Rowlet’s Peck finally gets the sleepy Kukui out of bed.
Upstairs, Burnet waits in a white gown with the whole class, and Kukui is moved to find a beach wedding prepared by his students. Burnet’s Munchlax and Kukui’s Braviary—a Pokémon the classmates have never seen—serve as witnesses, Komala rings the bell, and Team Rocket wander past while James’s Mareanie daydreams of marrying James. Ash is the ring bearer, the couple are pronounced husband and wife, and when Samson invites the kiss, Munchlax jumps up and kisses Samson instead. During the party Faba apologises to the class, Lusamine explains that he now works under Wicke, and she invites the students to join a new team, the Ultra Guardians, to return stray Ultra Beasts home; they accept. Olivia catches the bouquet, Nebby races across the sky as the class waves, and a purple creature slips through an Ultra Wormhole.
