Synopsis
Ash’s Electrium Z transforms into a Pikashunium Z, and Pikachu’s 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt frees Lusamine from the Nihilego after Lillie breaks through to her mother. Lusamine raises boulders that Nebby smashes through, then floods the area with a lake of poison. Gladion, seeing his Pokémon stalled by Absol, hands Silvally a Fire Memory: its fiery aura melts the ice on its legs, and a Multi-Attack also frees Umbreon and Lycanroc from Mean Look. Umbreon takes an Ice Beam for its partner, Silvally follows up with Crush Claw and Air Slash, and Gladion uses his Z-Ring to pass Z-Power to Ash’s Lycanroc, which finishes Absol with Continental Crush. Elsewhere, Lana, Mallow and Sophocles hesitate to attack while Rowlet is still drawn to Lilligant’s scent, until Steenee’s Sweet Scent pulls it back.
Steenee then has an idea: Mallow tosses her into the air and she bats Rowlet with her sepals straight into Lilligant, a combination Lana names “Rowlaunch.” Litten stops Lilligant’s Solar Beam with Fire Fang, Togedemaru’s Zing Zap and Charjabug’s Discharge knock out Milotic, and Lana’s Popplio defeats Mismagius with Hydro Vortex—yet all of Lusamine’s Pokémon rise again together. Lycanroc’s Stone Edge holds Absol back while Gladion rides off towards his mother. Lusamine sends a wave of poison at Ash, but Nebby scoops him and Pikachu into its mouth, then carries them across the lake. Ash’s charge and Pikachu’s Electro Balls fail, and Lusamine swats him aside. Lillie and Gladion arrive: Clefable, now free, carries Lillie and Snowy over thanks to Magic Guard, and a Steel Memory lets Silvally cross the poison safely.
Lillie climbs alone towards her mother, shouts that she hates her, and scolds her for acting like a spoiled child since joining with the Ultra Beast, insisting that this is a puppet and not her real mother. Lusamine briefly whispers Lillie’s name and reaches out, but the Nihilego regains control, grows larger and walls itself in. As Gladion and Lillie draw its attention, Ash’s Electrium Z crackles with power, the wind blows his cap away, and the crystal becomes a Pikashunium Z shaped like Pikachu’s tail. Wearing Ash’s cap, Pikachu fires a rainbow-coloured 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt, and the Ultra Beast collapses. Lillie and Gladion pull Lusamine free as Nihilego flies off; she apologises and hugs her children. Nebby carries everyone back to the altar, Bewear carries Team Rocket away, and Lana teases Sophocles about his Ultra Space rock.
