A Pyramiding Rage! is the 23rd episode of Pokémon DP: Galactic Battles, the twelfth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 590th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 595, Bulbapedia code DP128). It first aired in Japan on 21 May 2009 and in the United States on 17 October 2009. It falls within the season’s Snowpoint City stretch (EP126–EP129).
Synopsis
Paul challenges Pyramid King Brandon to a Full Battle and is swept six to none, after which Reggie arranges a Full Battle between Paul and Ash. Paul agrees to wait a day for his Snowpoint Gym battle, brushes off Ash’s new Badge, and clashes with Zoey after she learns that he abandoned Chimchar; then Reggie arrives, and the Battle Pyramid lands nearby.
Brandon has come to investigate the Snowpoint Temple with the Temple Maiden Maria. Learning that Ash conquered the Battle Pyramid and that Reggie once lost there, Paul challenges Brandon, wanting to succeed where his brother failed. A flashback shows the young Paul watching Reggie’s defeat.
Brandon’s Regirock, Registeel and Regice defeat Paul’s Hariyama, Electabuzz, Nidoking, Lairon, Ursaring and Magmar without losing a single Pokémon, and Paul stops giving orders in frustration. Brandon tells him his emotions clouded his judgement and promises a rematch once he learns discipline. Reggie proposes that Paul battle Ash at Lake Acuity in ten days, and news arrives of trouble at the Snowpoint Temple.
