Synopsis
Zoey and Dawn win their Grand Festival semi-finals against Nando and Jessilina to set up a final between the rivals. Jessilina’s Mime Jr. and Carnivine win her third-round match, and that night the friends find Nando playing his harp for wild Pokémon and admitting his nerves.
Zoey’s newly evolved Mismagius and her Leafeon face Nando’s Kricketune and Lopunny in a graceful battle. Lopunny’s dancing Jump Kick and Kricketune’s Sing cost Zoey points, but Lucky Chant, Double Team and a winged fusion of Aerial Ace and Psywave turn the match, and when the final explosion clears, Zoey has won by a narrow margin.
Dawn’s Buneary freezes Jessilina’s Seviper with Ice Beam, Cyndaquil’s Flame Wheel downs Carnivine, and Buneary’s dodging makes the two opponents hit each other. Dawn leads comfortably when time expires. Jessilina storms over, but only pinches Dawn’s cheeks and tells her to win. Next day, Marian introduces the finalists, and Dawn and Zoey face off as the countdown begins.
